Overview
About Me
Hey! I'm Kim, a 24 year old girl from the Netherlands. I love travelling and meeting new people throughout the world. I love exploring new countries and making the best of everyday life. I am very creative, I draw, write and play a little bit of piano (though I'll admit I'm not the best!).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As I stated in my about me section: I love travelling. However, travelling is/can be expensive and money sadly doesn't flow easily (not in my direction anyway). Besides the obvious money saving, I also think it's a great way to meet new people and find out spots to visit according to my hosts. :) Noone knows better than a local, right?
Interests
I am currently getting into yoga, I've done pilates before and found I enjoy doing both. I like reading, I collect ball jointed dolls (they're asian, look them up!), I enjoy the outdoors and hanging around with my birds. I own a whiteface male cockatiel, a skyblue female budgie and a red-fronted male kakariki (rescue).

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all sorts of music, my favorite being electro(nic) swing. As for movies I'll definitely go for horror movies! I'm not a fan of drama or romance movies. I really enjoyed [REC] and its sequel, the Conjuring and the Babadook. I'm a sucker for Guillermo del Toro and most (if not all) of his films.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
During my travels in Japan I visited the Mt. Inari. There's a beautiful shrine there (Fushimi Inari Taisha) which you have most likely one way or another seen photos of. There are vermillion torii gates stretched out over the mountain and make for quite a beautiful sight. I was entranced by it! So I kept on walking and walking and walking, following the hoard of tourists until I found there were little to no tourists left... oops. Somehow I had gotten off the path and ended up lost on Mt. Inari! Luckily with the help of some locals that didn't speak a word of english and my phone's GPS, I managed to return to civilization through some... quite amazing neighborhoods.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My amazing humor and personality 8^) Haha, well. I can tell you a lot about the Netherlands, but also about my study as a nurse. I've been told to be a pretty good listener as well as giving some life advice. Also, if you give me a pencil and some paper I'll totally draw you in a cartoony-cute style. Sure, it won't be good, but hey!
