ABOUT ME
History/Classics graduate from Adelaide, Australia. Interested in different cultures, languages, and food! Just finishing up a year teaching in South Korea and about to travel a little more of Asia. Hoping to move to Germany in the next few months.
PHILOSOPHY
Ubuntu- I exist as I am because we are. We are all interconnected and if one of us is hungry then we are all hungry. It is everyone's responsibility to try to make our world a better place!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Looking at the moment for places I can surf. I also love the groups for discussion about destinations. When I'm settled one day I would love to host!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Have only couchsurfed about 4 times in Eastern Europe in 2012. It's been awhile since I've used CS!
Interests
Books, classic cinema, French and German history (esp. Second World War) and Jewish studies and history. Majored in Classics and University so a fair interest in Classical and Byzantine cultures too. Food and cooking! I have lived in South Korea and eaten my way through there, Japan, Malaysia, Burma, not to mention the amazing Australian food scene and much of Europe!

Music, Movies, and Books
The Historian and People of the Book speak to my love of Eastern European and Byzantine history. I also enjoy great stories of WWII such as Captain Corelli's Mandolin and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. Movies are anything with Katharine Hepburn, Myrna Loy, Bette Davis, Ingrid Bergman, etc. etc!!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Bungee jumped into the Nile at Jinja, Uganda.
Teach, Learn, Share
Everyone who is unpretentious and willing to accept other people's point of view. Let's talk about anything and everything, I have opinions but I know I am not always right. I love to learn from people especially about something they're passionate about.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A nice city tour of Aachen and some time in one of Aachen's renowned cafes or friendly pubs.
