Overview
About Me
I'm just about to travel outside the U.S. for the first time. I've been moving around my home country for several years, drifting and picking up work. I most recently stayed in the northern mountains of New Mexico, where I worked in the local coffee shop, joined a theater company and fell in love with the theater completely.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I would really, really like to meet local folks to experience a place from the inside out. Even if we don't get to know each other, it would be better and cheaper than spending every night alone in a motel room. I'm also hoping to collect some tips for travel, as I am a woman going alone, and hope to see things that are not easy to get to. I'd like to meet other travelers interested in combining funds for longer excursions, too.

Music, Movies, and Books
Here are some I like lots:
Pink Floyd, the entire WuTang Clan, Bill Monroe, Fairuz, New Russian Quartet, Henrik Karapetyan (I admit my bias on that last one)
Casablanca, Trading Places, Noise, I LOVE kung fu, Dr. Aibolit, anything Ramon Novarro acted in
Chekhov! Chekhov! Chekhov! I read with most of my free time, and if you, too, like the written word, maybe we could share some good reads in greater detail some time. Until then, I just can't condense my "favorite books" into a short list. I was the child who couldn't choose one stuffed animal at bedtime; they all had to get in there, lest one of them should feel left out.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
During the past year, I was part of the production of Chitra, by Rabindranath Tagore. I acted, helped with the costumes, and cultivated part of the outdoor set. It may seem a small thing, but I still can't believe we pulled it off.

What I Can Share with Hosts
Friends, I will cook for you as much as you will allow, and after, I will bake for you. I like to be helpful, honestly, and would very much enjoy lugging grocery bags or equipment to have some company while walking the streets of an unfamiliar city.
