Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
"It takes a village", we believe that building a global community through sharing and service to people and the planet creates a positive ripple effect that can change the world.
ABOUT ME
We are fun, active people who spend our days off outdoors playing pickleball, mountain biking or hiking in the desert and mountains.
PHILOSOPHY
"Wag More, Bark Less"
Markus and I are both very positive people, and we believe in the power of kindness.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I participated in couchsurfing many years ago and hosted guests in my home in Durango, CO, and Santa Fe, NM. I traveled throughout Australia on a motorbike from 22 May 2023 - 22 May 2024.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted guests in my home and spent several nights in the homes of other couchsurfers; it was a great experience.
Interests
Our interests include nature and education. When we are not at work or studying, we spend most of our time outdoors. Markus is an avid cyclist, and Kim is a family nurse practitioner in a busy emergency department with a small practice in Integrative Medicine. Kim has also worked overseas with Medicins Sans Frontieres.
Music, Movies, and Books
We don't own a TV. We find our news and world events on public radio and internet.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Kayaked with whales, Greys, Orcas, and Humpbacks in the Pacific Ocean.
Crossed the Sea of Cortez in a sea kayak, and spent months living in the desert of southeastern, Utah.
Worked with Medecins Sans Frontieres in Southern Sudan, Africa.
I spent six months riding solo on my motorcycle around Australia.
Teach, Learn, Share
Kim is a family nurse practitioner in a busy emergency department and a retired Outward Bound instructor with decades of living in the wilderness. Kim has a Ph.D. in Mind-Body Medicine and Integrative and Functional Nutrition. We are both active kayakers, hikers, bikers (mountain and GS motorcycles), and slackliners willing to share whatever knowledge or skill might interest someone.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We have a small room in our home that is intermittently available for friends and guests.
Please, no smokers.
