About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Experience a little of everything. Everyone has something to share

ABOUT ME

I love traveling and meeting new people. I just graduated from university and I am working as a cardiac nurse. At my job I get to spend a lot of time talking to all sorts of people, you can learn so much from everyone. A new hobby, a new perspective, a new trick, see a new place, gain a greater appreciation. I'm an active person and I'll try anything new!

PHILOSOPHY

You can learn so much from people when you take the time to ask. Experience everything you can! The only way to learn and appreciate your life is to try new things and shake yourself out of your comfort zone

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted a few times and I often do day trips with travellers coming through town or meet up for a drink. I am always happy to help share some local tips and favourite things to do if I cant host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is my first time couch surfing, but I've heard good things about it! The best experiences I have had traveling is when I've met local people and been invited along with them. Share your favourite place in the world with me and I'll be great company and share lots with you

Interests

I live close to some amazing mountains and in the winter I spend most of my time skiing, I also volunteer teaching snowboarding. I like snowshoeing and skidooing. In the summer in BC there are tons of amazing hikes, boating, wake boarding, and waterskiing. I can do a pyramid on water skis! I love going to music festivals, any live music! I love sailing on the lake in the summer, and biking everywhere. Kayaking, cliff jumping, paddle boarding, rock climbing... should I go on? I love yoga and reading. Id rather go to a pub than a club. I'm the happiest if I can be outdoors. But I don't have to be out moving. Making a meal, having a drink on a patio or spending a lazy day on the beach is a perfect day to me as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking in the Andes and watching the sun rise over Machu Picchu; working in a health clinic in Nothern Ghana, delivering babies, doing check ups and surfing and playing tons of soccer on the coast of Ghana, Africa; and watching sea turtles lay their eggs on the beach then later watching baby sea turtles hatch and make their way to the ocean at sun rise (a lot of magical things happen at sunrise!)

Teach, Learn, Share

Ask me anything! I love learning new things, having new experiences

What I Can Share with Hosts

Kelowna is a beautiful town to come visit. Its on a lake and close to lots of great hiking. There's a ton of wineries and great places to eat.

My favourite things down town to do:
Rent bikes and bike along Abbott St. There are many quiet sandy beach access along Abbott to go for a swim.
You can hike up to the top of Knox mountain (40min) that has a view of Kelowna and down the lake. Or walk along Knox to Paul's Tomb for some smaller cliff jumping and my favourite view down the lake.

Bars/restaurants:
BNA - restaurant and brewery. They have a tasting room and you can buy growlers there
Mad mango - really cheap breakfast and laksa
Bohemian Cafe - the best breakfast place but always busy!
RauDz - treat yourself! Moderately priced but the most amazing food, plates for $25 and absolutely worth the little extra cash!
Smack Dab or the El Dorado Hotels - away from down town but they both have beautiful patios and good food and drinks

Pubs: Habitat and Doc Willoughby's often have live music
Roses is a popular pub all year long

Ask for any hiking trip ideas!
