ABOUT ME

I'm originally from the UK, but spent many years in Canada and a few other countries. At the moment, I'm teaching English in Poland, and enjoying some fantastic food and culture. I'm also attempting to learn one of the most complex languages I've ever encountered :p

I enjoy exploring new places, meeting new people and I'm particularly interested in learning new languages.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Everywhere I go, I meet fascinating people. And we always find each other equally fascinating. When you exchange your stories, your perspectives, your aspirations, you open each other up to a whole new world of possibilities.

Languages, cultures, customs, or just a different perspective - everybody will open your eyes.

Interests

For many years, I was a professional musician, playing mostly folk and classical. Joni Mitchell is a personal hero of mine, and also, if you've heard her recently, my inspiration to quit smoking :p

LOVE a good music conversation, whether it be theoretical music analysis, or if we just dig the sound.

Teach me some of your language! I'm eager to learn, and happy to offer English lessons in exchange.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last summer, I backpacked the Australian East coast. As we backpacked over 4000 km, we experienced frigid cold and sweltering heat, strangers became friends, and we saw some of the greatest wonders of the world.

Immediately after returning to Canada, an Aussie friend came back to stay with us. We took her to Niagara Falls. This meant, within one week, I experienced The Great Barrier Reef and Niagara Falls.

Words can't describe it.

Before moving to Poland, I was a professional singer/ pianist. If you'd like some lessons, or enjoy a good jam session, I'm all for it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you're kind enough to invite me into your home, I'd like to give something back.

I'm a trained classical musician, with a love of folk music. If you've always wanted to take some lessons, but never found the time, I'd love to help.

Bigos stew! I'm a huge fan of this traditional Polish dish, and could share a tasty meal with you.
