Overview
About Me
Six years ago, I left the US and made my home in Bali. But now I suppose I’m a digital nomad (self-employed in marketing), or what I like to call “fancy homeless.” Bali is still home and home base. I travel a lot, usually chasing the sun and sometimes various opportunities to live, work, volunteer or play. Home is nowhere and everywhere.
Currently I’m just looking to make new friends and do fun things out and about. I’m not often using this app to actually couch surf. I usually note in my travel itinerary whether I am looking for a host, but I’m usually not. So maybe I’ll see you at a local meetup or group trip out.
FOR HOSTS
I’m super easygoing, clean, considerate and basically a normal adult. I enjoy good company, deep conversation and learning from people around me, especially from those who have lived colorful, unconventional lives. I’ve actually been a nomad my whole life, and I have lived in communal environments and even a van, so I easily adapt to new places and people. If you want to play tour guide for me and show me your city, I’d love to. I like the occasional night out or staying in with good wine and good company.
FOR TRAVELERS
Many of my best memories traveling are because of the people I met, and I’d like to continue the tradition. It’s nice to have travel buddies to explore, grab a meal or a drink, or have a fun night out. And I know Bali really well and am happy to play tour guide or give you tips or advice on things to do.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Solo travel tends to gravitate to meeting other travelers and visiting tourist spots. I’d like to make new friends with locals and to experience countries in a more personal and authentic way.

Music, Movies, and Books
I’m a lover of music and art. Create fluid and abstract art and go see live music when I can. Love Afro beats, old soul and Motown, 70s/80s/90s, house music, newer r&b and soul, old school hip hop, select classic rock and all kinds of indie music. I tend to gravitate towards people whose love of music is a big part of their lives.
With movies, it’s usually a documentary or comedy for me. I’m always down to watch some good stand-up. My guilty pleasure is watching 90 Day Fiancé. I also love true crime, an obsession I’ve carried into podcasts so I can keep binging content.
Seems like I am too busy writing these days to do much reading (I have four books in various stages of completion). I’m a former journalist and always have more writing projects than I can actually manage.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Went on an epic month-long solo road trip of the entire West Coast, from Seattle to San Diego, camping in the Redwoods, wine tasting in Napa, partying in Hollywood, going to Coachella, wandering the desert and Joshua Tree, and visiting all kinds of weird sites along the way.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to practice my Spanish so if you want to improve your English, we can do a language exchange. I want to learn more about boating, book publishing, energy work, import/export business, art and wine.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I miss cooking so I’m always game for making a meal. I am also happy to help you practice English, teach you about AI (ChatGPT, Midjourney, Runway, etc), or help you with writing or marketing (websites, social media, etc).
