About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Being happy and giving something back to the world

ABOUT ME

I love learning and experiencing new things, so I have more hobbies and interests than I really have time for. I enjoy doing things that are relaxed and homey, but I also love going out at night and find that I have to do so pretty regularly in order not to go crazy. I've spent the past two years living in Spain, and now I'm back in the States, somewhat reluctantly. I grew up in Chicago and the 'burbs, but I haven't really lived in the area much over the past 10 years, so I'm currently trying to rebuild a life for myself here.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm just trying to be happy and remind myself that my time on this earth is limited.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I usually go to CS events, especially when I move to a new city. I've also gone on trips with other CS members.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I learned about couchsurfing during my first year in Spain. My roommate was a couchsurfer and I got to know lots of other CS folks through her. One of my favorite CS experiences was traveling to Lisbon with a group of CSers from Madrid. None of us knew each other, but by the end of the trip it was as if we'd known each other all our lives!

Interests

Of course, I love traveling and experiencing new places and cultures. I love music and dance. I don't play music, but I was a dancer for many years, and I recently learned salsa, which is great fun! I enjoy speaking Spanish, which I'm always trying to improve. I'm interested in politics and history and I'm a longtime practitioner of yoga.

Every time I have one of those "I love being alive" moments. Whether biking through Paris, dancing all night in Berlin, sharing a beer with a friend in Belgium, these moments usually happen on the road.
