About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live like the honey badger.

ABOUT ME

Hi everyone! I'm a single mom to one amazing 15 year old son. I'm a registered nurse and love what I do. My job affords me both the time and money I need to see the world! Can't wait to get out there and experience it! When I travel, I love to people watch. I can sit on a bench and just watch the world go by. On the other hand, I love old buildings, museums and amazing architecture, too. If you know of anything fun, weird, exciting or interesting that I should do, I am completely open to it (as long as it doesn't involve snakes or confined spaces. ugh.).

PHILOSOPHY

I love all kinds of people and love learning about new cultures. I try to keep a very open mind and see other points of view. Teach me how to cook something, teach me how say something funny in your language, teach me anything about you or your culture and we'll be friends for life!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm brand new to this whole CS thing. I've got some travel plans coming up in the new year, so I'm so excited to meet some new friends! Anyone interested in coming to the middle-of-nowhere Pennsylvania, USA, contact me! We're within several hours drive of some big cities like New York City, NY, Washington DC, Philadelphia, PA, Pittsburgh, PA and Baltimore, MD. Lots to see and do!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met one CouchSurfer through my sister-in-law when he came to our area to visit. Also, made plans to meet up with a CSer in Paris. After arriving in Paris and text messages back and forth, he never showed. Boo to that!

Interests

Free time is rare in my life, but when I do get it, I love to listen to music (all kinds except country music!) and read. Traveling, of course, is on my list of interests, too! My dream is to one day do a stint with Doctors without Borders.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: The Black Keys (I am currently OBSESSED!), Ben Harper, Ben Folds, Ray LaMontagne, Regina Spektor, Tori Amos, Damien Rice, The XX, Gorillaz (love Damon Albarn and his steely gaze!)...way too many to mention.
Books: Currently reading Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. I love to read and I read quickly so I should have another one queued up soon! Any suggestions?
Movies: I don't see as many movies as I would like, but I love all kinds...can't name favorites! I really hate when people ask about my favorite anything - I think I'm afraid of commitment.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My most exciting travel experience was going back to Vietnam (where I was born) 27 years after leaving and meeting family I didn't remember, seeing things I'd never seen, and learning so much more about my culture.

Teach, Learn, Share

What can I teach you? Huh - well, I guess I could teach you how to take a blood pressure or do CPR. That's helpful, right? As far as learning, I'm open for anything!

What I Can Share with Hosts

An open mind and great conversation!

Countries I’ve Visited

Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Canada, Cayman Islands, England, France, Jamaica, Mexico, Scotland, Viet Nam
