Chi sono
CURRENT MISSION
Traveling Australia till Feb 24th - based out of Brisbane. Hoping to see more or the ocean an the Great Barrier Reef. I'm then off to New Zealand till April 3rd
ABOUT ME
Creative liberal minded type of gay guy. I used to play guitar in an underground alternative band in the 90's and couch-surfed on our tours of Canada, USA and Europe. I've been a graphic designer in the music industry since then. Currently in between careers and traveling Australia - soon to be New Zealand
PHILOSOPHY
I'm currently on a learning path of 'mindfulness' (yeah, i know, it's a catch phrase these days, whatever)... I'm trying to observe life and respond to it - rather than judge life and react to it ;)
Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
For years, mainly in the 90s - I couch-surfed while touring with a alternative/hardcore band called Sparkmarker, from that I always put up other bands and indie-zinesters or whoever I or my roommate at the time made friends with
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
All over Canada, USA and Europe... and now, after many years of not traveling, Australia and New Zealand!

Musica, film e libri
I like documentaries and indie film festiveals. Any movie with Crispin Glover (especially the non-Hollywood ones), Cohen Brothers films, quirky films (Moon Light Kingdom, Happiness). I like music in general - but have a lot of history in the punk/hardcore scene of the 90's, I also like current bands like Grizzly Bear, Bon Iver, The Great Lake Swimmers. Books - I'm a slow reader - but Edmund White, Kurt Vonnegut Jr. are a couple that come to mind
Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto
Camping over night on Santa Cruz Island - hiking the island, watching the sunset, enjoying the stars in the clear sky (seeing the milky way!) and seeing dolphins on the boat back to land.
Hawai'i - hiking to the lava flow on the Big Island, seeing and hearing the lava flow through a 'skylight' - it was creating new land while destroying anything in its path - purest example of life and death intertwined that I've ever experienced.
Crater Lake Oregon - a snow-melt and rain filled crater at the top of a mountain. Crystal blue with a smaller inert volcano in the center.
The Chief, Squamish, BC - it's a place close to Vancouver that I like to hike when I find time to escape the city - its a large granite outcropping (one of the worlds largest) and it looks over Howe Sound. Beautiful.
I gueese I like mountains, volcanos and lakes. Also liked Idaho Peak in BC, Mt. St. Helen's in Washington State, Mauna Loa in Hawai'i - I like cities for culture and art, but nature always leavesme breathless
Insegna, impara, condividi
I'm not prepared to answer this question at the moment - but lets just say I think I am always learning, and if ever I'm a teacher, it's usually without me knowing
