About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To treat every day as a new adventure

ABOUT ME

I'm originally from the UK but spent the last few years in the US, from Colorado to San Diego to Utah and now Hawaii. I've spent several years of my adult life travelling, exploring and backpacking all over the world. I have my own business as a personal life coach, I teach yoga and have recently been working as field staff on a wilderness therapy program in the Utah desert. After years of leading a semi nomadic lifestyle and having countless adventures, I'm slowly adjusting to a less transient lifestyle as I find myself needing a more stable home base where I can grow some roots. I still love to couchsurf, to meet new people and discover more of this beautiful land whenever possible. I enjoy throwing myself into new experiences, challenging myself to learn new things, to discover more about myself and the world around me each and every day.

You can find out more about me on my blog http://www.organicfootprint.wordpress.com
and website www.organicfootprint.org thugh I must confess they are both in need of a radical update.

Also my boyfriend has a couchsurfing page, here: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/river-lassotovitch

PHILOSOPHY

To be honest with yourself, enjoy living in the moment and choose what makes you truly happy.

To not expect too much from life but to find out what life expects from you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It was in New Zealand back in 2011 that I first encountered couchsurfing and met some wonderful people that way. Since then i've surfed all over the world and hosted people when I was living in Scotland. I can't host right now due to my current living arrangements but look forward to reciprocating in the near future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Whenever people open their door to me and invite me into their lives, I feel truly blessed. Being able to have this kind of exchange whether sharing a meal, a conversation, a day out or simply providing a place to rest my head for the night shows human nature at it's very best. I love the openness and trust, the joy of giving and receiving in and for itself (without financial expectations), of sharing simple pleasures and learning from one another.

Couchsurfing is a concept and a lived experience that is very close to my heart and always will be!

Interests

I love connecting with people all over the world and sharing meaningful experiences.

I'm very interested in holistic health and wellness, which has played a major role in my travels and my professional life.

I like to dance, swim, meditate, climb mountains, practice yoga, horse-ride and do anything in nature. I find the outdoors to be the most therapeutic environment to help me remember who I am and connect with my inner wisdom. I'm also really interested in nutrition and preparing good food. Raw vegan desserts and smoothies are my specialty! I try to avoid meat and dairy but I don't freak out about it either as I've realised that resistance can often lead to more health problems so I like to accept what is offered to me :-)

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't watch much tv, it sucks the life out of me, but I do enjoy a good movie, series or documentary on netflix. I love books and wish I gave myself more time for reading.

My music taste is constantly changing depending on my mood and my company. I'm a big fan of live music in general, enjoy folk music from around the world , indie, alternative/ singer songwriter, weird yoga playlists on spotify and an eclectic mix!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro
Camped in the Jordanian desert
Meditated in silence 10 hrs a day for 10 days (three times!)
Survived living and working in the Utah desert through the winter (it gets cold!)

Ok so that's more than one...

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to share thoughts and ideas on how to live to one's full potential unencumbered by negative thoughts, assumptions and beliefs, to encourage people to step outside their comfort zone, to face their fears and embrace themselves fully (in their darkness, their light and everything in between)!

I can offer life coaching, reiki, yoga and meditation guidance. I can share my primitive skills and how to survive in the desert, how to eat well and live well, I love to cook for people.

I can give you advice on how to travel on a budget and without a guidebook - tips on hitchhiking and making use of volunteering opportunities abroad.

I love to learn from others too :-) I want to be more creative! I have a blog which is a great tool for self expression but am always seeking new forms of inspiration.

I have spent much time in Scotland, England, Wales, New Zealand and Nepal so happy to share what I know about those places, and others too.....
