About Me

Born in Paris, I started studying philosophy at 16. Firstly looked down upon by recruiters ("gah, a philosophy student, he must be another wanker"), I started to get much more interest from them after graduating on a master degree and spending one year preparing the agrégation, one of the toughest contests for becoming a teacher in french national education.

Today I am working on a Ph.D. between Canada and Brazil, still in philosophy.
It is about David Hume's Treatise on Human Nature (1739) and spreads on cognitive science, structural analysis and drinking insane amount of coffee. Fortunately, coffee from Minas Gerais, close from Sao Paulo, is one of the best.

Interests

Philosophy, cognitive science, politics, history, the (so-called) Enlightenment, Tradition, strenght training.

When I was in Paris, touring the underground network called "catacombs" for a mix of partying, urban exploration and hitchhikking.

Music, Movies, and Books

Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics, René Descartes' Discourse of Methods, David Hume's Treatise of Human Nature, Isaac Asimov's whole litterature, Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ran a half-marathon in less than 1h30". Ran another one by -10°C. Ran a marathon in 3h10. Went to the United Arab Emirates and studied there. However, the most important stuff remains what I have found out by studying and practicing philosophy.

What I Can Share with Hosts

The languages I speak (French, English, Portuguese), a monstrous heap of histories and anecdotal stuff I stumbled upon while travelling, sport advising, philosophy, laughter and red wine.

Countries I’ve Visited

Brazil, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom
