Hello! I'm a journalist and writer from South Africa, currently studying in New York. I live here with my girlfriend, Jenny, and am still adjusting to life in the big city. I love cooking, reading, listening to music ... and I love researching stories and learning new things about the world, and sharing them with other people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I signed up on Couchsurfing because there are some stories I'm working on in other parts of the USA, but for now, on my student visa, I'm not allowed to work. So I'm trying to find ways to travel on a very small budget. We also have a futon in our Brooklyn apartment available for guests :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I wrote a book about poaching in South Africa, co-authored by a former poacher, to give people an inside view of the illegal trade.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook, clean and love learning about people's lives, so I suppose I'm a pretty good listener.
