About Me

CURRENT MISSION
See places, meet people, eat pastries, listen to music, dance about and the like.

PHILOSOPHY
Do unto others as you would have done unto you. With age comes wisdom. Whenever possible, leave things in a better condition than when you found them. Run in the opposite direction of any job with a cubicle.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

With my growing wanderlust to blame, I quit my job and set out on the open road to see what I could see! I've been traveling Europe since February 1, 2015, and have been to Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Italy, Poland, and England doing HelpX, AirBnB, and staying with friends & aquaintances to gain a better understanding of a place and its people. I am hoping to extend this journey through the end of the year.

Interests

Food (eating it, making it, learning about its production), Music (listening to it, dancing to it, going to see it being made), Nature (happiest in the trees and mountains!), and obviously Travel. I love to laugh.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to list!

The last concert I went to: Van Morrison in Belfast (March 2105). Amazing!

The last book I read: How to Travel the World on $50 a Day, Matt Kepnes. Instructive! Also simultaneously reading Pride & Prejudice. This juxtaposition pretty much sums me up in a nutshell.

The last movie I watched: The Grand Budapest. I love anything Wes Anderson does.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just one? Um... I was in what the locals called an "arctic hurricane" in February, above the arctic circle in Tromso, Norway.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to learn more about local cuisine when I travel. I truly enjoy showing people the sights and helping others make the most out of a visit to a place I'm familiar with and will do this when I have the opportunity. If you need some help with your baking skills or planning a trip, I can help you there!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm happy to give travel advice if there's anywhere you're thinking of going that I've been to. I've seen 15 foreign countries and a whole lot of my own (35 states). I can help you practice English, if you're looking for that.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Northern Ireland, Norway, Poland, Scotland, Spain, Sweden
