Overview
About Me
****I find writing this really necessary in the first place:
I usually use Hangouts and I notice people suddenly stop replying. I think this is far from being polite. I understand “better” plans or even “better” people might come up, but it doesn’t take much effort to say it. Thank you****
People don’t usually have time to read profiles so here’s me in a few brushstrokes:
- I’m a friendly outgoing Spanish guy
- Ever since I was a child, I’ve had a keen interest in foreign cultures
- I highly value friendship
- I can communicate in 6 languages
- My interests range from cooking to languages to fitness
- Avid traveller. Been to almost 40 countries
- I like engaging in trivial as well as meaningful conversation
- My curiosity has led me to learn a lot
- I’ve had lots of humane and kindness stories on my trips, which I’d love to share with you
- I hate arrogance
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
As I mentioned above, human contact is essential to survive. I think that CouchSurfing is a powerful tool through which we can meet people, broaden our perspectives and share. I believe we can all play a part in making the world more connected and bringing people together.
If you’re in town and want to share some time with me, please drop me a message. I’ll be more than happy to take you to interesting spots, engage in meaningful conversations and have a drink/meal with you.
I’ve just started hosting and because I finish work late, I prefer to host at the weekends, so that we’ve got some time to share. And I'd also be willing to pick you up from the airport/station.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I first used CouchSurfing with my best friend (yes, that one) back in 2009; when we set about crisscrossing Germany. Back then I didn’t have an account of my own so we used his. I found the experience so positive that I decided to create an account. Since then I have used CouchSurfing regularly, not only to stay at people’s places but also to hang out with them, do language exchanges, share meals etc.

Music, Movies, and Books
BOOKS
I enjoy reading both novels and Internet articles. Some books I’ve enjoyed are The Catcher in the Rye, Animal Farm, The Great Gatsby and the list goes on. Because I studied literature at university I’ve read so many books I’ve enjoyed that it’d be impossible to list them all.
MOVIES
As for films, well, I’m not a massive fan, but if I were to watch some, it’d be historical ones.
MUSIC
When I was a teenager, I’d listen to punk (Blink 182 and The Offspring among others) and pop music. Today, I prefer to listen to classical music, or at least music that is not just “noise”.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There are a lot of them: shaking hands and talking to Angela Merkel crossing a whole Irish town walking along the cliffs visiting 12 German cities/towns in a week visiting Christmas markets in Prague and Brugge hitch-hiking across the Basque Country, and last but not least experiencing people’s kindness, hospitality and warmth on my travels (and I’ve got many of these experiences)
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach you the basics of any of the languages I can speak, how to teach a foreign language, how to make a good pizza dough, I could show you round Barcelona, and I’d be happy to share with you all the kindness stories I’ve been the protagonist of.
I’m always up for improving upon my (rusty) skills, or learning new ones. I’m particularly interested in drawing, DIY, or practising any of the languages I can speak for more fluency. I’d also love to learn how to read music as I could play the piano by ear when I was 5. Besides, I am willing to meet positive people who can make a difference in my life, and I hope I can be an inpiration to you, that’s why I want to exchange those positive stories which would push you into doing things out of your comfort zone that you wouldn’t otherwise do.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Apart from the ones mentioned above, I can share a good laugh, and good company.
