Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
See the world, meet cool folks, learn another language
ABOUT ME
Living in San Juan La Laguna, working for a small NGO as a volunteer coordinator. San Juan is a smaller, quieter and less gringo-y alternative to San Pedro. It's only 5 minutes away by tuk-tuk.
PHILOSOPHY
Keep moving forward while trying to be content with where I'm at.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Since I'll be living in Guatemala on a longer term basis, meeting up with travelers seems like it'd be a good way to meet people with some similar interests. Plus this area is so beautiful I'd be happy to share it with others.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've only couch surfed across Spain and had a wonderful experience. All my hosts were really cool and I had a great time spending time in places with people who called it home. Also have had friends who've hosted a lot of people and pretty much I met through it seemed really cool.
Interests
Music, travel, soccer and people
- traveling

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - Fleet Foxes, Youth Lagoon, Justice, Neutral Milk Hotel, El Guincho, Hank Williams, Joanna Newsom
Movies - Right now watching a lot of Spanish movies to practice, favorites probably were Sin Nombre and Contracorriente
Books - Hemingway, Faulkner, Fitzgerald. Maybe my favorite book is "Sometimes a Great Notion" by Ken Kesey
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Went in an old abandoned sewer tunnel system underneath a major downtown area. After crawling through low tunnels and secret passageways, hung out in a small "bar" that had been etched out of the sand stone. Slightly claustrophobic so somewhat terrifying but also incredible.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some Spanish if you'd like. Also could show you around the town of San Juan and some of the surrounding walks.
