About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live it how I'm supposed to. To write, learn, travel and experience all I want; to find out just how little I actually know.

ABOUT ME

I think my 3 main traits would probably be: Mad, compassionate, and funny.
I'm passionate about life, and everything in it. Some say I'm a big kid, others say I'm wise beyond my years. I'm a mix of everything really - half scientific, half philosophic; half thoughtful introvert, half entertainer-extrovert; half incessant perfectionist, half utterly content with the little things.... Both complicated and simple!
I'm the last person to be rude, and the first to make allowances. I believe everyone is worth the same quantity of awesome, and should be treated as such.
Come and have a laugh with me :)

PHILOSOPHY

Life is whatever you want it to be. If you want anything badly enough - totally, completely - then you can get it. We live in a balanced, logical and beautifully complex universe that loves to punch you in the face, but only ever in a loving way. So if you commit to taking the 'bad' as simply a part of the 'good', and try to learn and grow as much as you can, you will live a fulfilling happy existence.
Treasure the little things,
Look for life's constant punchlines,
Remember that fortune favours the brave,
And above all -
You've got to move your feet, if you want to learn how to dance :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm currently on the road in Asia, trying to fund myself through teaching English. I'm eager to meet any and all free-moving people, and would be grateful of any advice or a couch anywhere I go.
I can't really offer a couch in England, but I can offer advice, and hook you up with friends/family.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No experience yet, I only hit the road on the 28th of April - my first big transcontinental solo travel experience! Looking to build myself a wealth of CS friends and experiences :)

Interests

I like *everything* - I can make light of any situation, and constantly find myself staring and giggling at little things nobody notices. My core interests are writing (mainly philosophy), travel, literature, music, cinema, fashion, learning, meeting people...
My one overall *love* however, is new things. I love being challenged -- be it all-out adventure, or just an interesting opinion, I'm always eager to learn about something different.

Oh but Cartoons, Green Tea and Dark Chocolate are the way to my heart.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have veeeery eclectic tastes, as I love all aspects of cinema/music/literature... But the ones that always make me happy?
Films - Cowboy films, classics from Hitchcock to Woody Allen, Kung Fu films, Tarantino's, Chan-wook Park (Old Boy etc.), and particularly Paul Thomas Anderson.
Music - Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jazz (Charles Mingus <3), old school rock; Hendrix, Floyd, Zeppelin etc., Bob Marley, Queen... I like anything with some soul to it!
Literature - Mainly philosophy, particularly Nietzsche and Sartre, but ranging from Buddhism to Christianity to Martial Arts.

Adventure Time is lord of all.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I haven't done much, that's what I'm trying to change!

Eating ice cold melon atop a mountain waterfall/spring in Turkey was pretty awesome... I'm quite proud of taking off into the world in time to celebrate my 21st Birthday in Saigon though :)

Teach, Learn, Share

The main thing I have to teach is my philosophy. Grown in the heart of a befuddled and somewhat difficult youth - the short version of which is divorce and an ill mother - my approach to life has evolved into something unique. I've been a guide to a few friends through difficult times, and want to be able to do the same for anyone who wants the same. The core of my travelling is to perfect this philosophy so it can make a real difference to those that need it. By experiencing different ideas, it can grow, and I can continue to prune it into perfection :)
