About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To die in a black hole.
ABOUT ME
I'm pretty laid back. I assume I am amiable enough, but I suppose that is something for other people to judge. I think that perhaps life is too short to take things too seriously (and certainly too short for bad beer). I like to talk and if you meet me you should prepare some intriguing travel stories with which to grace me.
Oh and I guess that I should mention that I'm a pescetarian (veggies and fish). I don't think it's a major part of my personality but sometimes it catches hosts off guard so I'll include it here.
PHILOSOPHY
Haha, these blanks are really causing me to examine my life... I don't know. I suppose I'm still trying to nail down a personal philosophy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I joined back in 2009 and ever since been making great friends all over the world ever since. I love hosting and have done it several times before - but since I also love living with others sometimes availability is at the whims of my housemates.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I surfed my way through Belgium, France, Japan, and New York. Couchsurfing meetings gave me new people to hang out with when I went to San Fran. I have hosted a couple of times and found that it is fun as well.
Interests
I am interested in many things. Math and physics are my degrees, but I'm willing to delve into art, music, and philosophy for the most part. I will talk for hours about beer - but then again I will talk for hours about anything interesting.

Music, Movies, and Books
I find that I will listen and enjoy many different styles of music. I particularly like jazz, bluegrass, rock, metal, but I like to take a gander at any style that comes my way.
As for movies, I find that I enjoy Charlie Kaufman's work as a screenwriter, so Being John Malkovich, Eternal Sunshine, and (my favorite from him) Adaptation I am fond of. I am also a fan of Darron Aronofsky who directed Pi, the Fountain, the Wrestler, and Requiem for a Dream. But there are too many good movies out there to make distinctions. Sci fi movies are good.. well, perhaps interesting. Dramas are nice.
Currently my number one pick on books is Free Fall by William Golding. I like Vonnegut. A lot. I find that as I progress through college, though, more and more of my book reading time is taken up by technical books or textbooks. I have two shelves devoted to mathematics and physics. Maybe someday I'll get back into leisure reading.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
-Hiking Fuji at night to reach the summit at sunrise
-The Oregon Willamette valley.
-Three day trek to Jomon Sugi on Yakushima island.
-The wonderful people that I encounter wherever I go.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a bit about physics and mathematics if you enjoy that sort of thing.
I know a bit about brewing beer if you enjoy that sort of beverage.
I can play banjo and guitar and own several so if you play and you surf over at my place we can jam, or if you do not play and wish to amend that, perhaps I can show you some basic maneuvers.
I make a mean, mean pizza, but you have to let me know a day in advance.
