Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Once upon a time in Moscow I was riding a tram on a way home. Suddenly, I noticed through a window how two Asian guys, wearing awesome colourful outfits and holding tiny hipster bicycles, were crossing a crazy busy and wide street. I thought that day, that Moscow for tourist is a pretty aggressive city, and to fully enjoy the city you better be with the locals. I wanted to jump from the tram and help the guys, but the tram took me far away from them and we got lost.
The next day I took a subway. As I entered a car of a train I bumped with two nice guys. One of them was holding a bicycle helmet with a photo of Ai Wei Wei on it. There are more than 5 million people who use subway on daily basis, so I couldn't believe my eyes! I asked guys if they were crossing a wide road on bicycles the other day, and they answered yes. It was an awe moment. I suggested we meet after my job so I could help them to explore the city. We spent an amazing day together, I showed them my favourite spots in Moscow and even explored new sides of the city.

This is one of many amazing stories which happened to me thanks to Couchsurfing community. I love this society and I hope to contribute more.
