About Me
Hey there! I'm Kira. I love meeting other travellers from all over the world, exchanging views and talking about different cultural habits :) I'm learning a lot through the people I meet and am thankful for that!
I'm a bit of a LOTR nerd and love fantasy/scifi movies, video games, books. I studied film science and English at uni and had my own company that had to do with conventions, costumes etc. It was a lot of fun, smiles and tears, hard work and generally taught me a lot. I like fantasy because it creates worlds and offers so many ideas and creativity. And I like writing and languages. Languages are so fascinating and intertwined and I enjoy creating something out of nothing with just words!
I love exploring! A perfect day for me would be me in a new city or in nature, just walking. Some good music on my ears and just walk. In the evening I'd probably meet up with some CS people and taste test the beers! I'm an absolute tv series addict, so there is always a healthy rivalry between going outside and looking at beautiful nature or staying in and watching Netflix. Some tv series I watch/ed, so we could chat about them: Sherlock, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, Community, IT Crowd, Deathnote, Black Mirror, Stranger Things, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, .. and more of course! I could write a lot more I guess but let's just talk instead - more fun.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's the best meeting people from other countries and talking about customs, experiences and life in general. Also the locals always know the best places for beer! I've made many great friends because of CS so far.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite movies of all time will forever be The Lord of the rings, such an epic trilogy.
I love seeing musicals and saw my favourite musical Book of Mormon in London.
I like a nice mixture of music- atm I mostly listen to singer songwriters like Dermot Kennedy, Matt Maeson, Nao, Freya Ridings etc. I like some "irish folksy" type of music like Mumford and Sons (as well as real Irish pub songs!!), some electronic pop and one of my favourite bands is called "Prides", I also enjoy London Grammar, I like some pop rock bands like Picture This. Also some more well known artists like Bastille, Ed Sheeran, Sia, Bon Iver, Chvrches but also Linkin Park. And some 'older' stuff like Queen, Michael Jackson, also Johnny Cash or even little Richard, Paul Anka, etc. ... there's more but I can't remember right now.
Not sure about my favourite book but I really like dystopian novels, mostly sci fi settings like "Ready Player One". Some are very similar but I think many ideas and scenarios in them are interesting. I enjoy all of the fantasy books of Walter Moers like "Rumo" and "Ensel und Krete" etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Trekking by the sea on the Isle of Mull and seeing dolphins by the shore.
Partying with some of the cast of Game of Thrones.
Seeing the sun set at Neist Point.
Hearing Billy Boyd/Pippin live sing his song of Minas Tirith.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm still trying to learn to play Ukulele but I'm really not a musical genius so it's taking me some time haha
