Helloo,

I am new to the backpacker scene but I am very excited to meet new people and learn about different perspectives and places! I usually travel with groups but I am taking off on my own this time in an attempt to learn more about the communities I visit. Most of my adventures have been exploring throughout the US with a few trips outside the country. I want to change that though!

My youth has been scattered with outdoor adventures so I am always down to explore rural areas and go adventuring in nature. Some of my favorite activities include rock climbing, swimming, and backpacking (in the wilderness).
My biggest passions are learning and dancing. I love learning the history of areas, whether it is history about the people, development or natural geographical processes. Some dances I enjoy are Salsa, Bachata, Blues, Tango (novice), Swing, and Fusion. I would be happy to teach some of these or take people out to socials!

Overall I am a fun loving person looking to have new genuine experiences. I generally travel quite light and don't take up a lot of space. I love to talk! If you would be interested in hosting me I would love to chat with you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am couch surfing because I want to learn about the people and places I visit. I want to exchange knowledge with folks who are seeking a similar exchange. It seems to me that in an increasingly digital world this is a good way to find connection and learn about one another.

Interests

I enjoy reading very much, I am always trying to find good books. My interest also include outdoor adventure guiding. I love doing anything outside and active! Currently I am very interested in learning more about the different ecological zones in Australia.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a hard time choosing favorites. Instead I tend to go through phases with music. Some of my go to music is: Classic Rock, Blues, Pop, Salsa, and Reggaeton.

I love lame scary movies, great adventure and action flicks, cheesy romantic comedies, and anything made by Hayao Miyazaki.

When it comes to books, I have been reading a lot of history, science, and science fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In university, my best friend asked me if I wanted to go to Ghana with her. She is an amazing west African dance with great rhythm and mostly I dance to Latin music but I said yes! Once we arrived in Ghana we started learning the local language, Ga, and our dance teacher laid down the ground work for our performance to be a month from now. I had such bad rhythm and geez poli-rhythm is a thing!? After struggling, sweating, being sore and getting sick it was finally our performance day. It was truly an amazing thing to see this community come together to support a handful of foreigners trying to learn about the Ga culture. I can’t say I looked good doing but it was an amazing show because of the support we all showed for one another. :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Beyond conversation and general company; I am great at doing dishes, and helping to tidy up. I would love to share dance socials in any city they are happening and I can offer beginner lessons in salsa.
