About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel the world.

ABOUT ME

I am currently travelling the world before I head off to university to do a double degree of Arts and Visual Arts (majoring in darwing and printmaking).
I've just spent a month and a half in Canada and 3 weeks in America.
I'm currently moving through Europe. I've been to Greece and Italy so far, moving next to Spain.
After that I'm not sure, but probably France, Germany and The Netherlands. Possibily also Austria, Switzerland and maybe the UK.

I have grown up in a button shop, yes a shop that sells buttons... just buttons. My parents are both from different countries so we always had friends, friends of friends and family traveling through our house. We also had a lot of people in the house due to the shop, so I am used to having people around. So even though I have never hosted due to my lodging situation I feel like I have kind of grown up with Couch Surfing lifestyle. I love meeting new people and hearing about their personal experiences and background.

PHILOSOPHY

All we can do in life is experience it, so that's what I intend to do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently just surfing, but perhaps hosting in the future. All depends on the place I move into when I return home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Music, Movies, and Books

High Fidelity, anything from Studio Ghibli (though there are many I still need to see, I anticipate that I will like them), Labyrinth, The Spanish Apartment, Russian Dolls, Micmacs (and of course Amelie), The Graduate, all Wes Anderson films, Cohen Brothers films (though again there are still many I need to see) The Dark Crystal, Little Miss Sunshine, Almost Famous and many more, but not horror films (though I did like The Shining).

Ah... pretty good with everything. Not so much into metal, I have sensitive ears I don't think they can take the volume that it needs to be played at. I like some rock, classical, indie, folk, country, rap, R'n'B, blues and really a bit of everything. Basically any genre, as long as it's good music.

Hiroshima, The Little Prince, A Clockwork Orange, Her Fearful Symmetry, 1984, The Philosophy of Andy Warhol and more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Canadian Mountains really are an amazing sight. I've been a few times and they still amaze me everytime. Maybe it's because we don't have anything similar in Australia, but I just love them.
I also saw a glacier in New Zealand which was just awe inspiring. Just the scale of it was enough to make you stop and think.
I loved see the art in New York, I know it is boring and a very typical experience that many people have done. It was just really great to see the works in person after learning so much about them. I think when you view something it is best to have some knowledge of the background. This is part of the reason I like couch surfing, you get to know more about the city that you are looking at.
Florence was really amazing. I loved it for the duomo and the art galleries. I think everyone in the world should have the chance to see those things.
There are so many more experiences that I consider amazing, but probably won't really interest you haha. So I'll stop there.

Teach, Learn, Share

I unfortuantely don't know any other languages apart from English, but am willing to help you with yours if that is what you want. I'm also very willing to learn your mother-tongue from you.
I know a bit about art, mostly modern, but I mean I would only be able to teach those who knew very little as I wouldn't say that my knowledge is extensive. I know a lot about Andy Warhol if you're interested.
I know how to bake a lemon tart without looking at a recipe.
Really I'm not sure exactly what I know, I think it's an odd thing to try and explain.

I'm interested in learning anything, from anyone :)
