Overview
About Me
I am a challenger of the unknown, a CPA, and a mother of two little boys, residing in Dayton, Ohio. When I am fortunate enough to have free time, I spend it researching tiny homes and watching RV tours/renovations. I feel most grounded and peaceful when walking in the woods. I love streets covered by canopies of trees! I clean and organize as a way of de-stressing. Music enables me to process my emotions; I would be singing non-stop if it weren't socially inappropriate to do so! When it comes to things that I love, my enthusiasm knows no bounds.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined the couch surfing community in 2012 just before going on an open-ended solo backpacking journey in Europe. And while the budget-friendly benefits are hard to ignore, the reason I feel endlessly compelled to use this incredible resource is because I treasure the experiences I have with people-- whether through surfing as a guest, hosting, or meeting up with other travelers. My favorite travel memories have been completely shaped by the gracious hosts that have welcomed me into their homes. I also hosted for a while when I lived in Germany (until I had a baby), and I look forward to hopefully hosting again in the future when my living situation and schedule permit!
Interests
My interests are endless-- I never want to stop learning! I love trying out new recipes, especially ones that factor in challenging dietary limitations like gluten- and dairy-free. I love learning about alternative medicines and meditation. I love the intersection of Quantum physics and the Law of Attraction; I never tire of learning about the connection between our thoughts and physical realities. I aspire to walk the Appalachian trail someday and to run a marathon. I'm all in for more sustainable, loving ways of living.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Very eclectic: Indie alternative, classical, Celtic music, folk, the works! I play viola (when my nails are short enough), and I love to sing just about anything. If only I could remember song lyrics! Right now I'm really enjoying First Aid Kit, Loggins & Messina, and Brandi Carlisle.
Movies: These days I watch an awful lot of Disney/Pixar with my kiddos! They're obsessed with Frozen and Moana.
Books: I love the kind of books that uproot and shift your perspective on life. I'm just about to finish a "zine" book called Off the Map. GO READ IT.
