In 2010, this idea popped into my head "What if I could just travel for a year?"

After almost 3 years of saving money, meticulously evaluating gear and planning for different possibilities, I took the leap.

In early 2013, after selling almost everything I owned and departed on an adventure that I knew would change my life.
... I just had no idea how monumental that decision would be...
The idea was to spent one year bicycling around Europe "and wherever life takes me" but almost nothing went as planned.
LIFE showed up with all capital letters and started teaching me what it really means to be alive.
Beauty, Love, Joy, Hardship, Excitement, Heartbreak, Terror, Introspection, Tragedy and new friendships.... so many new friendships!

One thing led to another and I ended up living in Istanbul for a very interesting and wonderful phase of my journey.

... But the path continues, and now I am more on the travelling side of the story than the hosting side. I cherish the memories with all the multitude of guests I hosted over the years. I hope to get back to it someday.

Watching the sun set over the Taj Mahal (Agra, India) from across the Jamuna river
Sitting in the park at the base of the Eiffel Tower drinking champagne when the lights start
Hiking to the top of Gellert hill (Budapest) at night and watching the city lights
Seeing the sun rise (and set) over Hagia Sofia, Istanbul
Sleeping under a camel-hair blanket on the shore of the red sea, surrounded by snoring Bedouins. Waking up to the sun cresting over the red cliffs of Saudi Arabia.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I can teach cooking, dancing (salsa, swing, etc), fitness and healthy eating.
I recently lost a great deal of weight and I am happy to share how I did it.

I also know a lot about Istanbul, how to get around, much of the historical elements and many off-the-beaten-path parts of the city. (Still applicable even though I don't live there at the moment)
