Mostly born and raised in Oakland, but also two years in Seoul and a year in Taipei. My college experience has been international - three years in Shanghai and a semester each in Abu Dhabi and New York.

I've played guitar for about eight years, and listen to a lot of music.

I just graduated with a BA in Global China Studies, with minors in public policy and social science.

I've traveled to a little over 20 countries on 5 continents, but I haven't been to enough of my own United States!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I originally tried couchsurfing in desperate straits trying to attend a conference in North Carolina, and now I'm hooked! Met some great people and looking forward to meeting more. If I ever settle down anywhere long enough to provide a home I'll start hosting too!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hold the record for most grilled cheeses eaten at a grilled cheese restaurant in Shanghai - 17 individual halves of sandwich in one sitting. Record has remained unbroken for over two years.

What does this section mean? I won't be so bold as to say I definitely have something to teach you, but I like to learn and I like to share! I'd like to learn anything you care to share with me about where I am.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'll treat you for a drink, or dinner, or both! I cook decently tasty things. I'll bake experimentally. We can hang and share stories. At the other end of the spectrum, I'm pretty self-sufficient and I like to wander around, so I hopefully won't be too underfoot.
