1. Whiplash - Miles Teller is HOT. And Damien Chazelle is a great director.

2. Sicario - Emily Blunt is bona fide. She wasn't nominated because the Academy sucks.

3. Chicago - Catherine Zeta Jones. Enough said.

4. Monster - Roger Ebert called Charlize Theron's performance one of the best screen performances ever. Charlize won the Academy Award.

5. Blue Jasmin - Cate Blanchette won the Academy Award for this Woody Allen remake of A Street Car Named Desire, starring my favourite actress Vivien Leigh who also won the Academy Award for Actress in a Lead Role - her second such award.

6. There Will Be Blood - Daniel Day Lewis. Enough said.
