Overview
About Me
I am 27, female and recently finished a solo Europe adventure. I love meeting new people, experiencing cultures through local eyes and being at one in nature.
About where I live
I'm based in the Redland City bayside area and below have put distances from me to other areas. although I'm about to start full time work and don't have my own place to offer you I do love to share the city and show you around or if I can't show you around below are some ideas for you!
45 min train to Brisbane city: free Brisbane Greeters walking tours, free clock tower tour in town hall, beautiful Roma street, Brisbane Botanical gardens and Mt Cootha gardens and lookout. Also free red bus around CBD and free red Cty hopper ferry around part of the river. Lots of free exibitions above state library or in the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) in south Brisbane and beautiful fake beach at south bank.
2 hr train either to Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast for an easy day trip.
There are beautiful islands around us here which are an easy train and ferry to go to such as the famous North Stradbroke island where yo can see kangaroos, learn about aboriginal culture and do the amazing Gorge coastal walk and spot whales, dolphins and turtles!
Cochie mudlow island- can walk around the whole island on the beach within a few hrs, great to go on the same day as ther weekly market.
Daisy hill koala sanctuary is a free conservation area that rehabilitates koalas and has a few there all year round for you to see up close and learn all about them in the info centre. Also loads of beautiful bushland for walking and wallabies around the park. Can get a bus there from city.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I really love to see places through local eyes and connect with people not just feel like a tourist and take pictures. One day I hope I will have a place to offer to travelers but at the moment I am the traveler and looking for free or cheap ways to experience cultures and countries off the beaten track.
Interests
I have played flute since I was 10 and love concert bands or listening to live orchestras.
I have had pets all my life and currently have 2 dogs and a cat at home and when traveling jump at any chance to be with animals and around people who love animals.
I enjoy long casual walks or bike rides and getting a bit lost to discover beautiful nature places or interesting architecture in historical cities. It's also a great chance to be curious and meet new local friends. I am not very fit so not so much hiking or mountain biking but just being outside and enjoying life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I traveled on the back of a motorbike through Sri Lanka for 3 months and met locals, swam in waterfalls and dams and slept in a village hut with dirt floor and banana leaf roof :) It was wonderful!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm happy to meet up for English conversation practice and really happy to learn from everyone about their culture, foods, local things to do and customs or traditions.
Please let me know if your coming to Brisbane I'd love to meet you or give you some travel ideas!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Friendly conversations, smiles, help with cooking and daily life e.g. we can do chores together. If you need to practice your English I'm really patient and happy to help.
