ABOUT ME

Kirsten- I am genuine, open-minded and talkative

I like to think of myself as a free spirit though the onslaught of adulthood is trying tamped that down a bit.

I love living in the city but also love the outdoors, camping and hiking
I love people, especially when they want to talk about travel, books, and general speculations on the world.

I love new experiences. I both hate and love doing things that scare me, I find I'm usually glad I did.

Ben- I'm a pretty mellow guy. I prefer listening over talking. I went to a small art school and have been working as a Graphic Designer for about 6 years now. I grew up in cold Minnesota, but I'm contemplating a move someplace warmer. It's a great place for about three months of the year, but when you don't like snow and cold...

I'm always open to finding new ways to combine my graphic design and my passion for travel. I'm trying to read more books.

I enjoy curling up and watching a cartoon (I especially enjoy Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) over a serious drama any day.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to take it all in, love life, learn.

The only reason I need to go to a new place is that I've never been there.

I have hosted, surfed, gone to meeting and parties, and I am pretty sure couchsurfing, in general, rocks.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My couchsurfing experience has been 100% positive. The people who I have hosted have been fascinating and brought new perspectives from all over the world. I have couchsurfed my way through several countries, and had some truly incredible experiences because of it.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I love old movies, some favorites are: The African Queen, Roman Holiday, White Christmas, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
other newer movies: Almost famous, Rushmore, The Darjeeling Limited, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

I would say I'm rather eclectic when it comes to music. A few bands I love are Cat Power, Eisly, Badly Drawn Boy, The Decemberists, Andrew Bird, Jeremy Messersmith, Brandie Carlile, The Beatles, America, The Guess Who, James Taylor
However the music I listen to most is Classical and I LOVE to play cello, some of my favorite composers are Dvorak, Barber, Sibelius, Schubert, and Bach

I am an English major so I do love the classics, Jane Austen, Thomas Hardy, George Elliot
but I also love Collete, she is my absolute favorite author, Kate Chopin, Charlotte Perkins Gilman, and many many more
