My name is Kirsten Poking and I'm an entrepreneur. Currently I am interning at a dive centre in Sea Point to get my PADI Diving Instructors License.
I love animals, especially sea animals and some of my favourites are nudibranchs (colourful sea slugs that have Kirby-like adaptation abilities), shy sharks and last but not least the Pyjama cat shark 😍 I've volunteered at the Two Oceans Aquarium (Cape Town, South Africa) and the Shedd Aquarium (Chicago, IL, USA).

My favourite premier league team is Arsenal and locally is the Pirates.

I love to travel and partake of delicious food and great company. Even better if it's happening simultaneously 😁

I'm interested in realising my own potential and helping others do the same. I'm interested in respecting love in all it's forms and reminding people to be hopeful when things are at their worst. I'm also interested in the power of dance and a good conversation.

Music, I love any kind of music that moves me or I can sing to (not that I sing well)
Books... if I wrote down every book I read or author I enjoyed readying then I would probably never make use of the Couchsurfing.. I'll just list one book that I'm reading at the moment: The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell.
Movies, I like most movies and I'm a comic nerd so I'm into the marvel, DC, sci-fi universe. I'm just not big on scary movies (bit of a scaredy cat 🙀)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have decided to follow my heart and forge my own path
I've also done a static line sky dive and been to a Linkin Park concert, where I successfully snuck into the pit 🖤

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share with you my medicinal, emotional and life wisdom. I know at 23 you might think that I have very little to offer and on some counts you'd be correct. The wisdom I offer though is a collective of my own experiences, insights and observations as well as those wiser and more experienced around me ;) and also share my love of the ocean
I can also teach you about the ocean and the sea life contained within and about some really good places to eat here in Cape Town and other places I've been to 😋
