About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To stay young!

ABOUT ME

I'm Kirsten and I'm all about people, being outdoors, and learning!
I can be with all kinds of people and always want to meet new ones.
I'll say yes to any new experience, no matter how outrageous.
I'll be outside whenever I can and my windows are usually open, as is my door.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe life is a beautiful thing. I will experience it the way I wish, as I hope my friends and people around me will also. I believe life is what you make it, attitude is everything, and being active and social make you live longer. Bad things happen, this I know. But it's always coldest before the dawn and things always get better.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to start building up my contacts here on CS so that in my later travels I will have a good base, and then eventually be able to host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have now surfed 3 times and all experiences were very satisfying and only encouraged me to become a host one day. Until then, I will couch surf!

Interests

I love learning and I love people. I'm a dog person, but also you could say I am an animal person. I love to cook. I bike as much as I can, I climb about 4 times a week in my local climbing gym. I enjoy gardening. I stay up to date on news and I like to stay involved in my community.

Music, Movies, and Books

Literature and Science Non-Fiction are my favorite books, but I do also enjoy memoirs occasionally.
Music? The Format; Death Cab for Cutie; Iron and Wine; Keane

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went rock climbing in the City of Rocks, Idaho, US and climbed an arete called Red Rib, 5.10a. As I climbed the thin "holds" on mere edges, I looked down to see swallows flying, and I realized that I was above the birds. Great feeling.

Teach, Learn, Share

There's something I can learn from every person I meet and I'd like to think people can learn from me. I am an open book, ask and I'll tell you the truth. I can teach the basics of photography(dark room and development, technology), climbing(gym climbing and single pitch outside), freshwater aquarium basics, baking, plus some other miscellaneous things. I'd like to learn more french(I've taken 3 years of it but still not completely conversationally fluent). I'd also like to learn how to run better.
