Overview
About Me
Hey! I'm currently living & exploring the Pacific Northwest, based out of Victoria BC. I work for a local marine conservation non-profit, and I am constantly thinking about ways to live more sustainably and create a better future. I split my time between a beautiful home & and equally beautiful sailboat named Far Fetch.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love the idea of creating a global community and sharing places and experiences with strangers/new friends. I think it's a really special way to travel and experience a place, and it also allows me to get a taste of travelling and exploring the world even when I'm home in Victoria.
Interests
I like things that are cool, fun, adventurous, and easy to share with my friends. I'm down to try (almost) anything once!
I mostly love caves and squeezing/rappelling into the darkness underground, but really anytime I'm outside exploring in the wilderness I'm a happy camper. I make myself jump into lakes/rivers/oceans even if it's really cold. I love sharing meals with my friends, especially if it's burritos. I LOVE to dance (badly). I also have a particular passion for dragging muggles geocaching.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I genuinely enjoy listening to almost any genre of music, especially live. I've accepted that I'm not a very good DJ because I usually just listen to same artist/playlists (mostly Hamilton..) on repeat for months and somehow never get sick of it. So I'll let you pick the music - I really should branch out more anyway.
Books: My favourite book always tends to be the last book I read (which changes often). Lately I've been digging true stories about great adventures such as Endurance by Alfred Lansing or anything by Wade Davis. The world of Harry Potter will always be magical to me and one time I found 'I know this much is true' by Wally Lamb in a garbage can and now I love everything by Wally.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One time I hopped on a small, folding, bike and biked all the way around Taiwan.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a thing or two about caves, and I know more knots than the average person (but I'm super keen to learn more :P). I play the bagpipes and the ukulele and I'm happy to let you play/try either instrument! I would love to take you climbing, caving, or hiking if the opportunity presents itself (I don't have a car at the moment, so sometimes adventures are complicated).
Learn: I am really looking for someone who can teach me how to play the Russian card game "Durak"
