ABOUT ME

I am a friendly, fun-loving Finnish-American. I have been living in Finland for a little over five years and am eager to explore more of the world. I always try to be happy and positive, life is too short to have a negative attitude. I'm a second grade teacher who is constantly struggling to obtain a work-life balance. I like to try new things, even if I end up hating it in the end.

Staying with locals helps give a more authentic experience when traveling. Couchsurfing helps to give a better insight on life, people, and cultures in another country that you normally wouldn't gain if you stayed inside of your comfort zone. To quote a good friend of mine, "couchs surfing has restored my faith in humanity."

I also hope to be able to host surfers someday!

兴趣

Reading, attempting to watch movies but then falling alseep, painting, cooking, meeting new people and seeing new things. Of course I also love to travel! I've recently started to learn how to watercolor paint. I love being outside in nature and dancing.
The world is a beautiful place and I want to see all that it has to offer.

I like to read Stephen King, Charles Bukowski, Margaret Atwood, Ernest Hemingway, Sylvia Plath, Ray Bradbury. Tchaikovsky is my favorite composer and I could talk for days about The Beatles.

One amazing thing I've done is move abroad on an impulse without ever having visited the country before. It's had its ups and downs but I don't regret a single thing.

I can share my experiences living abroad and traveling and hope that hosts can share the same thing. I hope to make lifelong friendships with those I couch surf with.
