About Me

Hi there! My name is Kirsty, i'm 21 (22 in April) and from the UK. I'm currently working as an Au Pair in South East France looking after three children aged 2, 11, 12. Previously I was working as an Au Pair for 5 months in British Columbia, Canada looking after two children aged 3 and 5. I love to travel, experiencing different cultures and meeting new people. I'm an outgoing and friendly individual who up for something different!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting new people and being immersed in different cultures is one of my greatest passions. I love to discover and learn new things and listen to stories from people all around the world. I actually have a friend, that I met through being an Au Pair in France that recommended me to "Couch Surfing" to meet other like minded travelers!

Interests

I love to explore hidden gems of a city/town & who doesn't love a good beach too! I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie, I skydived last May and it was exhilarating so anything which gets your heart racing is awesome! I'm a bit of a people person so I love hanging out and I adore my family. However I do enjoy a good book in the sunshine with a glass of wine.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I volunteered for a month in Jamaica, teaching teenagers from troubled backgrounds Drama and English. I also volunteered in an orphanage whilst I was there, and gave a helping hand to children who just needed someone to pay them lots of attention! I lived with a Jamaican family and spent the month living like a Jamaican would. Also whilst I was there I had the opportunity to do several outreaches, going to families who could not afford to send their children to school and so I went and home schooled their children for the day. I also visited some primary schools and gave motivational speeches to parents on the importance of nutrition and healthy eating. It was an awesome experience and I recommend volunteering to everyone. I believe the world is one big family and we need to help each other.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach - This is a tricky one. I can teach English to people who want to learn! & also I can teach horse riding, English or Western.

Learn - I would love to learn anything new. I am always eager to try new things.

Share - A great sense of humour and life experiences.
