About Me

ABOUT ME

Currently:
About to move to Budapest and continue my carrier in the capital of Hungary. I might be in Debrecen in the Summer and a few weeks or weekends in the Fall, so it could worth a try to write me!
-- For sure I am not home: aug 18-aug30.. :/

Me, myself and I:
I am studying software engineering at the university of Debrecen, I just came back from my Erasmus study-year in Santarém, Portugal. According to my studies I am mixing IT and Management now so we will see how it will turn out. For a few years I was following a more careerist life then I had a year of relaying and now I am back in business again.

Currently I work with two organizations in Debrecen (my hometown). One is the local Rotaract club called Rotaract Club Debrecen Főnix, the other one called the Invisible School (Láthatatlan Iskola). In a nutshell these NGOs are working on helping the community and the environment. The Invisible School is aiming to improve the education of underprivileged children, whom are living in temporary family homes and foster homes in Debrecen. We provide a volunteer based mentorship for the kids. Our volunteer team is growing and currently we are studying with a 100+ children every week. And soon we are an official foundation!

Before that I was an EVS volunteer in Estonia, I was working in the local youth-center, kindergarten, elementary school and secondary school... everywhere in that small village called Maidla. So a part of me will always be Estonian.

Also there was a place that had a lot of impact on me and it is in Algarve, the amazing Osho Garden (Laozi House) which is basically a caravan of hope for people who like mediation, yoga and healthy/active lifestyle. This place is filled with joy, life and volunteers. I will definitely go back.

Where and how:
I live in Debrecen (originally) it's on the east part of Hungary, and it is the second biggest city in the country. A pretty lovely city, full of programs and events, night life, forest (nature!). PM me for some guidelines and info!

What I do when I am not in front of the computer:
I love team sports, especially baseball. I played it for 9 years and soon going back to play it again. Till that volleyball and tennis. Actually cycling was always a part of my daily life, because there isn't big distances in my town so I always use my bike. I also tried to cycle trough Estonia, I am done with the northern parts and some middle areas (Y). After that I've done half of Portugal and in a year I want to finish it, I just need to go back.
Juggling: devil stick & flower stick, sometimes on the streets or just for myself at home and even started to teach the kids, so getting more serious.
Photography: even the traditional way of taking photos with pin-hole cameras. I had one. Should make a new.

Teaching: the way teaching came into my life: I (luckily) became an English teacher in the local schools during my EVS, I have to say it is on of the most ancient and hardest professions, but an amazing experience. And now I help the local children though the NGO I mentioned, but with other groups I organizes some freetime activities and camps as well.
In the past few years I am really into youth exchanges and volunteering in youth camps around Europe. We have a small informal group for organizing exchanges, so we like to take all the chances to that EU and E+ give us.

I consider myself a friendly person who is open-minded and always wants to be on the way (anyhow.. plane, boat, bike, foot, hh...). I am just always sharing and showing who I am, and I seek to learn from others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Whywhywhy, for the first it was the travelling but then I opened my eyes. The experiences and the people whom I have met and could meet in the future.. the amazing human beings with their unique personalities, talents, ideas and stories. The way how two 'stranger' share their life with each other and just enjoy it.
Once you start it, you will stuck with it.
(And also honestly to sleep somewhere safe and have a few drinks with a few great people.)

I have truly gained so many amazing relations from hosting and surfing. I've met my brother(from another..) through CS as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I thought I should leave to another world, and I did. Worth it.
×
Convinced a few kids to study, and believe in themselves. Best thing I've ever done.

What I Can Share with Hosts

For a starter some not so impressive stories of my life then some kind of great stories.. and at the end of the night I might tell a nice and cool story too. I love to talk, a lot.

Well I have no sense of cooking but I try. I need a recipe and someone to hold my hand and then it will be delicious. Or just stick with pancakes.

And you know all the other fascinating things that I wrote down before.
