关于我
CURRENT MISSION
Working for the man to save money and travel more
ABOUT ME
After living abroad from 2007-2010, I returned to the US, where I am working as a software project manager to save up enough money to get the heck out of here again and explore some more of the world.
I love practicing different languages, trying food from different cultures, watching a little TV, drinking coffee, road trips, camping (summer & winter), cooking for friends, planning my next trip.
PHILOSOPHY
I try to leave the safety bubble of the beliefs I grew up with, in order to open myself up to other possibilities. It can be uncomfortable, but totally worth it.

I have met some really amazing, beautiful people. I've had complete strangers open their homes to me, share their time, dreams, thoughts and feelings, and in return I've had the oportunity to see different perspectives about the world and to share some of my life with unique and awesome people. I've only met one unfavorable person out of the dozens I've been lucky enough to meet and even from him I was able to learn.
Now that I've finally settled down for a little while with an actual address, I'm open to hosting surfers. Although, I tend to doubt Louisville is as big a draw for CSers as was my house in Istanbul!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I stayed in a hostel in Milan while traveling solo through Europe/N. Africa for 6 months, and someone in the hostel introduced me to CS by inviting me to meet a local CSer. We met her and some of her friends for dinner and a great conversation. I only then realized how valuable this site could be, to bring together people from all cultures or walks of life to maybe communicate a little better and hey, maybe even make the world a little better.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情
To limit this to one is crazy. However, the thing I experienced that touched me the most is when a Berber family in the High Atlas mountains of Morocco invited 12 random strangers into their home. I was with a group of friends traveling to the desert, we randomly stopped on the side of the road, and were greeted by young boys tending their family's sheep. The patriarch invited us into their tiny, mud brick home, where they shared freshly baked bread, local honey, homemade butter and hot tea, giving us all they had, expecting nothing in return. I've never experienced such generosity or freely giving nature, and I think of the experience often when I see people who are truly in need. It definitely touched me deeply and I hope to never forget it.
教,学,和分享
I LOVE languages and discovering the ability to communicate with people from all over the world. I'm always looking for ways to improve the languages I know and to add more to my list. If you want to practice your English, feel free to contact me...I am a very patient teacher :)
