Overview
About Me
I'm a chef, but rarely drink and don't smoke tobacco but I don't care if you do. I'm certified in Advanced Open Water Scuba diving with about 100 dives under my belt. I have an athletic background from growing up playing soccer to Triathlons at University. I chose not to own a car after living in the Netherlands for a year as an exchange student in between High school and University. Therefore, I commute by bike or foot and use public transportation. During that time I studied fine arts at The Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. I Majored in Anthropology with a focus on economics and cultural systems and minored in Philosophy while studying Japanese, but am nowhere close to fluency. I hope to live and work in Japan sooner than later. Right now I'm traveling and working my way around the world to learn different food systems. As a Chef, I plan on opening a sustainable bio-dynamic restaurant that is seafood-centric. When working, I'm a very focused and detail oriented otherwise I'm carefree and just learning and exploring. I used to be on couch surfing years ago but I guess my old account was deleted. I have only hosted two people in the past.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm traveling and working my way around the world starting in Alaska and moving to Melbourne to secure a position in a locally sourced restaurant in Melbourne. Hopefully I'll spend a year there and move to my next work-venture. I want to meet people who are interested in sustainability (farm/ocean to table) and ethical work environments (particularly in the food industry at any level).
