About Me

I'm Kit. I find most things interesting, I'm easygoing and I try to take less than I give. I've been living in the wonderful city of Sheffield for the last 5 years but am always looking to broaden my horizons.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because mediocrity is always waiting! I'm fairly new to couchsurfing, but I really love the idea of sharing life with the people of a city, when visiting for whatever reason.

Interests

Good times with people, with all the je-ne-sais-quoi. Music, in all its forms. An undeserved penchant for NBA basketball. Most goings on in the third sector - particularly as I'm setting up a social enterprise that designs and sells assistive devices for people with disabilities!

Music, Movies, and Books

Eclectic, to say the least: Here's some commendable live music: Springsteen. Bonobo, Shapeshifter, John Mayer, Lauryn Hill, Taylor Swift, Jessie Ware, The Gaslight Anthem, The Chariot, Dry the River, Shad K.

Wish I'd read more by now, but really enjoyed memoirs, novels and non-fiction from Alexandra Fuller, Carmen Aguirre, Veronica Roth, Malcolm Gladwell, FE Schumacher & of course George RR Martin.

Movies: The Departed, American Hustle and Bridesmaids are my incommutable top 3. Though Hot Fuzz transcends all, for being so very British.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Dropped my sticks during my first ever live drum solo on las ramblas in Barcelona!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll enjoy listening to your story so far: It's good not to teach someone something until you have learned something from them first.

I try to remember that out of my head, things are different.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A surplus of pointless facts and regrettable puns.
On the bright side, I'm highly qualified at washing up pots.
In fact, I can even teach you English, with a TEFL certificate to prove it!

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Germany, Greece, India, Moldova, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Spain, Sweden, Zimbabwe
