About Me
Hello! I'm a moderately small human and artist who has been traveling and bumbling around to new places over these last few years, and will now be joined by my sweet partner, Dima! So prepare for double trouble. We're a pretty easy going pair and spend most of our time petting street cats, exploring new places and searching to replenish our stash of coffee beans when we're not working. As of this last year, we have been slow traveling Eastern Europe and the Balkans. I work as a commissioned painter, and Dima is an online English and Russian tutor. I'm especially excited to be throwing him into the lovely world of couchsurfing, and we can't wait to meet you!
Dima's CS profile: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/dima-cherednichenko
I myself am an avid nature lover and explorer, and am always looking for a new adventure and a good laugh. I hope to have a home of my own to host other travelers myself one day, but for now I still find pleasure in sleeping on the floors of kind strangers (preferably something cushiony like shag carpet, but couches better yet). I'd say I'm pretty friendly and easygoing and am always very comfortable in any situation I've stumbled into. I'm always down for a good banter session, pint, wicked cup of coffee, crab dance, cuddle puddle and exciting food expeditions.
I really, really like long cozy talks about life. I can talk your ear off about anything over a cup of coffee or a beer. I prefer being able to get to really know my host when couchsurfing, and am more looking forward to making a new life long friend I can hopefully continue to stay in touch with as the years go by.
Also, my life mostly revolves around stressing over the current painting I'm chipping away at, so if you want to get a good kick out of some weird looking art of mine: https://www.instagram.com/kitmizeresart/?hl=en
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The best way to travel and to get to truly understand a new place is by getting to know those who love and live in that location themselves, hands down. It's the people you come in contact with on those trips who dwell in your memories for the many years to come, more so than the place itself, from my experience.

Music, Movies, and Books
Love listening to a wide range of randoms but especially enjoy lo-fi psychedelic rock and funk, folk, indie alternative, bluegrass, 90's hip-hop, Ethiopian jazz, Balkan folk and the list continues on in that same kind of inconsistent, crumbly line. I appreciate being introduced to new music, so feel free to throw out new suggestions.
I'm all about that artsy stuff when it comes to media, so I really love all kinds of cartoons and animation (more so than the average human my age, I think), and I completely fit the art school stereotype because yes I do really really shamelessly love all the Wes Anderson films, Miyazaki films, Coen Brothers, Tarantino and so on.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I traveled out of an RV for a month with a handful of wonderful strangers where we were sponsored to paint murals in several different cities in the USA. Nothing like bonding with new people trapped in a stinky van without showering for days on end, it was so magical. That very trip was what inspired me to continue a road trip of my own that ended up lasting over a year where I then lived out of my car and explored America, and eventually got me to where I am now with my current international travels abroad.
Teach, Learn, Share
-I can show you how a real slap is done in whiskey slaps! And perhaps paint, if you'd like!
-Things I would like to learn: how to drive stick/manual vehicles, how to be a better cook, how to quit being such a spaz and to calm down
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can doodle for you, in exchange for your stories, laughter and affection. We can also make blanket forts together.
