About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to learn more of myself by meeting and interacting with a great many others and by experiencing many different cultures. To share my skills and help folks

ABOUT ME

I was born into blacksmithing and moved from there to the fine arts. Eventually I moved here to Ann Arbor and established Gallery 212, organizing cultural events and festivals every year. Then I left for several years and it seems that now I'm back. I am a sculptor for the most part, but enjoy learning other disciplines. I am especially moved by the idea of creating works of art, and events, in different places throughout the world. As well as sharing my work as a holistic health coach or my work in microbiomics.

I also have a passion for alternative technologies, especially the home grown sort.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that the world I see around me is a projection of the world within me. To change the world within is to change the world without.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surf quite a bit and hope to host in the near future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have always offered a place to stay for visiting artists... soon the door will most certainly be open to others as well. In my travels I have enjoyed the comfort of many couches and campsites.

Interests

I'm interested in the arts, natural/local foods, fine wine, organic gardening, alternative energy, and do it yourself types of technologies.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, the Tao of Pooh, The Secret, anything on Ho'oponopono, Supergut and Wheat Belly, and pretty much anything presented by Mindvalley. . I love live classical and baroque music

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am amazed by the direction life takes whenever I have stopped planning and just allowed it to flow. Be it an experience that I would never have, had I not taken that left turn, for no apparent reason, or that epiphany resulting from the absence of thought, great beauty results in allowing that flow.

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach primitive pottery and sculpture. By primitive I simply mean the old way, the basics; clay comes from the ground, we can dig it up, shape it, and it becomes permanent after we've chucked it in a fire. I have done so for the state parks, for children, for communities, and anyone interested.

But then sculpting, drawing, microbiomics and alternative technology are all the sorts of things I love to share.

And food, good wholsome organic food. How to grow , wild source, cook, ferment, to use medicinally. To continue learning and passing on what I've learned.
Forever a student/teacher

What I Can Share with Hosts

A willingness to help out, an openess to other cultures, my skills as a chef, my skills in the arts or social and cultural organizing, curation of all media art happenings, a passion for good food, environmental concerns, any way I can be of service.
