About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live not just to be
ABOUT ME
I'm Irish but most importantly I'm from Cork! I grew up in the middle of the country playing in fields, exploring, riding horses and standing in goals for my brothers. I studied in Belfast for 5 years. 1 in France and now am transitionally back in Cork. I love travelling but never have enough money to do it as a full time profession but always scheming to find some place to go. I love the experience of new places, new cultures, new smells and sounds- they make me feel alive!
My aim in life isn't to have things, its to have experiences (difficult when you like things-especially kitchen things-weird... but then again normal wouldn't be a great way to describe me!) For me, to be called normal would be an insult! I hate change but insist on things changing to challenge myself, its all an experience!
PHILOSOPHY
I live my life for the buzz that you get from living- from laughing, from loving, from going downhill so fast on a bike you think you may have lost your stomach. For my family. For my friends. For everything the world has to offer. I'm afraid of EVERYTHING but the only way to overcome a fear is to face it - therefore I want to face EVERYTHING- well nearly (not sharks)!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Unfortunately since I joined CS I have only been a surfer and met people, never had a couchsurfer due to circumstance but hopefully that will change soon!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Meeting people that would normally be outside of my social circle is liberating and interesting. Every person opens your mind to a different way of thinking or at least just reminds you that there are more ways to think!
Interests
Life. Music (not techno), anything that I can dance to, I love dancing but unfortunately it doesn't like me too much- its look more like a physical disability than dancing but I don't mind! Rowing-I'm not very good but I haven't fallen in yet ;( , horse-riding-but I don't do it anymore (these are the things you give up for other experiences! Outdoor sports (although I'm terribly accident-prone so I probably shouldn't do them!)- hiking, biking, skiing, running, horse-riding...I love the countryside- the peace! Travel!

Music, Movies, and Books
Books-I'm terrible when it comes to reading, I have so many books on reading list that when I do read its practically all architectural theory, if not its the cinema guide!
Music- very, very varied taste- Anthony& the Johnsons, the Killers, John Denver, Van Morrison, Paolo Nutini, Christy Moore, Aretha Franklin, Paul Simon, Ray LaMontagne, Akon - no coherance- I just like what I like!
Food...I'm adding it to this list...working in restaurants all my adult life through and in-between Uni have turned me into a foodie, not a food snob though- I like mine fresh and not too far removed from the field!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I jumped out of a plane, did a 60 second freefall over Byron Bay, Australia
Teach, Learn, Share
I don't know what I could teach people! Architectural theory???!!!
Irish dancing? My travels...experiences! Food nutrition (I have a weird but vast knowledge of food!)- it is my best friend.
