About Me
ABOUT ME
Hello Folks,
My name is Kittitash Chaikunpon, a student pursuing Bachelor Degree of Architecture at University of Arizona in USA. Originally, I was studying in Thailand, but fortunately I got scholarship from the Thai government to study aboard. That was the first time I got out of my country. Therefore, I made decision to pick the US as my best choice. I have been living in the US for almost 3 years, however I stayed 3 different states within 6 months. Firstly, my sponsor assigned me to studying at University of Kansas, which they don’t have B. of Arch. Because of that, I had a chance to stay in Washington DC 1 month before I moved to the desert state “Arizona,” which will be my home until graduating.
This might sound weird, but it is true. Sometimes we cannot get what we want or dream for. I did not think about studying architecture at all until I got the scholarship. I always want to be a doctor, but unfortunately, I am not that smart. However, I like both science and art, and architecture is perfect match.
As an international student who has to face with totally different culture of the West, I am quite good with handle with change. Of course, it makes me stronger as well as helps me to get along with various people. I know how to adapt myself to be part of them.
I am considering myself as hard working person for both studying and travelling. For travelling, I mean I always see every details and exhibitions at a place, or I have to go as far as I could when I go hiking. I think every pieces of works, stone, and materials has their own distinction, and they is all valuable. By the ways, I am very organized and clean; I always keep thing in the exact position where it belongs to after I use it, and I also clean stuff when I am done. Because I hate to use a spot where some people leaves a mess, I do not want to do it to other people as well. Normally, I am not a talkative person, but I can talk when I spend sometimes with you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
TO BE AN ARCHITECT, I MUST FEEL IT !!
As an architecture student, I have to be inspired all the time, but I cannot find such an awesome ideas from the school. I need to explore the world and experience various architecture styles. What I have seen from books doesn’t provide me neither a sense of real nor feeling. However, there is a huge problem blocking me from that dream. I can’t feel or have a real experience when staying at hostels. I mean a hostel does not provide me a sense of local, but as a tourist. Because of that, I think CS will fulfil the gap and allow me to absorb the true feeling, so that I might come up with an alternative ideas.
