ABOUT ME
My name is Kat and I am 26 years old. I work as a University Lecturer (Psychologist) in the day, and teach dance (mostly Zumba and Pole dancing/fitness) in the evenings.
I love being active and trying new things. I completed part of my PhD in New Zealand, and whilst I was over there tried every adrenaline sport under the sun! I'm renowned by friends and students for always being smiley and always having a lot of energy!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have surfed in a few countries, but have only recently moved into my own place, so can now host as well :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've surfed in New Zealand and The Netherlands
Interests
I love high-adrenalin sports like skiing, snow-blading, sky-diving, and bunjy jumping. Also less crazy activities like hiking, camping and cycling. In September 2011 I'm cycling across Kenya - 400km in 5 days for cancer charities.
I go to the gym regularly and love dancing :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all kinds of music - variety is the spice of life! I'm also open to anything new.
I don't get a lot of time to read for pleasure, so it's good to find a nice easy-reading book. I reccommend Peter Kay's Autobiography for a good laugh. Also, I'm currently reading a book called "The Curious Incedent of the Dog in the Night" by Mike Haddon and it is fabulous! It is written from the perspective of an Autistic child and is very clever.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing things recently was jumping off the Auckland Bridge - it was the most horribly scary and at the same time wonderfully exciting thing I have done!
I also had a private pilots lesson in Nelson, NZ, where I lernt to fly a stunt plane & do loads of cool tricks!
I do lots of charity work, and every year try to do something bigger and better for charity. This year I'm cycling across Kenya in the space of 5 days, for cancer charities.
Teach, Learn, Share
One thing I can teach is how to sign to deaf people. I have just finished 3 years at night school and am pretty fluent in BSL. I can also teach you how to pole dance :) I am aware that pole dancing has a stereotype, but what I teach is for fitness, fun & art.
