ABOUT ME

I'm an easygoing, social, positive person who makes the most of all situations, and always tries to see things in the positive.

I like to eat healthy & exercise (although with all the travel lately, i`ve expanded in places I didn`t know could expand). I'm also a non-smoker. I love vegetarian food (I occasionally eat meat but don't cook it).

More of a wine with dinner kinda gal, love hosting dinner parties and cocktail parties. Not really into hitting the bars and clubs too frequently.

PHILOSOPHY

Treat those as you would have them treat you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I tell everyone about couchsurfing. Even my little brother and his friends. When I get home to NZ after this stint of travel, I plan to get heaps of local info, brochures, bus & train timetables to make it easy for my surfers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

first time was San Diego, then LA. San Fransisco, Portland, Montreal and Quebec. All fantastic couch hosts who have most certainly added to my travel experience.

Interests

Travel & photography (they go hand-in-hand), reading a great book, theatre, movies, long walks. On the more energetic level; skydiving, rollercoaster-ing, the great outdoors in almost any description.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies; Anything Johnny Depp, anything Audrey Tatou, and a few feel good movies too.... like the one I saw today - August Rush - what a tear jerker that one was. Such a sweet story.

Books; love reading a wide variety. Currently reading The Memory Keepers Daughter - Kim Edwards. Just finished The God of Small Things - Arundati Roy. Really enjoyed Mother Tongue - Bill Bryson.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've climbed Mt Sinai (Egypt) to watch the sunset. Watched the Buddhist monks' early morning procession through the streets of Luang Prabang (Laos) to receive their breakfast offering from villagers.
I've ridden a motorcycle in Vietnam - thats not for the faint hearted, and is quite an achievement.

Teach, Learn, Share

Here's something I learned recently; diet drinks with aspartime & phenylalanine (sweetners) can cause headaches. I cut them all out and replaced cold drinks with water & I feel heaps better.
