About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel until all my shoes are worn through. Then stop and grow a vege garden.

ABOUT ME

I am a New Zealander who is taking this time in Europe to explore, discover and most importantly, learn. I love to read and to sleep, and climb hills. Love meeting people, though I also love time on my own.I have a tendency to blush. And castles! I have a slightly obsessive love of castles, if there is one around, I will do everything in my power to visit it.

PHILOSOPHY

See all comments above and below and I think you should get a general idea....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I enjoy being able to experience the places I visit with the help of my hosts' expert local knowledge, as well as meet people I wouldn't usually meet in my every day life. I also enjoy having the world come to me and hosting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed a few times and hosted occasionally - it's a way to get an insight into other worlds - that's my favourite part

Interests

Reading, cycling, drawing, gardening, beach swims at midnight, travelling, cooking and baking, walking, drinking a gin and tonic in the sun, good films, trawling through musty secondhand shops in search of fab dresses.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: 'Self' by Yann Martel, 'The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society', 'Novel about my wife' - Emily Perkins, Margaret Atwood and Marion Keyes and many many more. Movies: 'Breakfast at Tiffany's', 'Boy', 'Die Welle', "Goodbye Pork Pie" and so many more. Music - too much to list here, varied from Hungarian folk music to NZ electronica.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swam naked at midnight in Golden Bay with phosphoresce dancing around me and the full moon on my skin.

Teach, Learn, Share

Best cookie recipe ever - this is not a secret and I am happy to share, English teaching to those who want to improve, gardening help and I am also an extensive NZ travel guide. I am always open to learn if someone is open to teach, especially local knowledge and applied history.
