About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel the world exploring cultures

ABOUT ME

I have worked in the outdoors guiding people rafting, glacier guiding and hiking. Life is adventure and learning playground.
Now I water the garden, ride my motorbike, swim in the largest lake in the southern hemisphere in the summer (not the deepest in NZ, which is in the south island)chill out with friends and don't have a tv so don't sit for long.

PHILOSOPHY

We have a short time in which to experience what life has to offer. So many wonders and wonderful people to see and meet.

Interests

I love sports like skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and always ready to try something new
I grow a few veg and fruit which friends pick when I'm away and share with me the jams and pickles.

Music, Movies, and Books

Tv tends to dominate a lot of peoples lives - not mind. I love all types of music, read books of reference and historical novels, newspapers and motorbike magazines.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I have experience was living and working on the Franz Josef Glacier, South Westland, NZ and seeing the form of nature change on a daily basis.
To see a 10km long, 1km wide at the widest point, glacier slide 10 metres into the valley after a 48 hour storm and the changes making the terrain unrecognisable is to realise that there is no way we can control the environment. The amount of water lubricated it's path took out the road to the bridge. This happened only once in the 12 years I spent there. Even now the glacier grows in this time of warming and it is an amazing creature.

Teach, Learn, Share

Do you know where Lake Taupo is? It's the centre of the north island of NZ and offers the best play ground for folks of all ages. That's why I live here. Snow skiing on the mountains viewed across the lake ideal for water skiing or swimming or catching those big juice trout eyeballing us from below. Not far to both oceans, major cities north and south.
