ABOUT ME

g'day

I consider myself very lucky to be one of the few from a little place called New Zealand. Being in Europe has given me a whole new perspective on my homeland. I loved seeing other countries but i really missed little old NZ when i was away.

They say 'travel opens minds' and i really feel this is true.

To some degree i do embody what us Kiwi's are known for, im very easy going, friendly and accepting of all races and cultures. But i have always had a lingering feeling that there is a lot more to me that remains a mystery.

I'm quite a deep thinker. I often shock myself with how good everything turns out when i focus on only thinking positively, you should try it.

A few days ago i realised it has been at least 10 years since i relaxed in a nice hot bath.. this has absolutely no relevance to my profile but i just wanted to share this shocking revelation.

I'm in my first year of study this year so have more free time to meet surfer's!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My hope from couchsurfing is to interact with many diverse groups of people, and learn all about their unique culture and life, while sharing my own culture and experiences as well.
Hamilton is not super active within the C.S community but i would really like to change this.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have made some incredible friends throughout Europe. Honestly it seems like CS'ers are a different breed of human altogether :-)
I also really enjoy meeting travellers within NZ as they are always such incredible company.

Interests

Expanding my knowledge and personal experiences, Reading, meeting amazing new people through travel, Hiking, Camping in beautiful locations, roughing it, forgetting the worries of everyday life and taking advantage of every opportunity that comes my way.

Music, Movies, and Books

Alternative Rock, Deus, Black Rebel motorcycle club, The Shins, Goldfrapp, Florence and the machine - to name a few. pretty varied taste, changes a lot.. recently got into dubstep which is great!

Movies that get your mind going are my fave, to list a few of my all time favorites; Amelie, Run Lola Run, Shutter Island, Life is Beautiful. (I love foreign films) oh i better not forget lord of the rings :D
I am a great movie enthusiast and am always open to hearing about ones i may not have seen.

Books - re-reading the game of thrones series at the moment.. read if you havn't!
also look up Patrick Rothfuss: the name of the wind, absolutely amazing fantasy novel

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While traveling the south island of NZ a few years back, something that i found amazing happened, a penguin slowly wobbled its way from the water, all the way over the rocks, directly towards me - and just sat there about a meter in front of me, staring at me. To this day i feel quite privileged to have seen this!

Teach, Learn, Share

I learnt how to make Creme Brulee at a random job in a Restaurant. Be nice to me and i might make you a dessert hehe..
