ABOUT ME

I love to travel, learn, dance, debate, host, and simply share life with people.

I'm a Midwest native with a surprising love for Minnesota after spending years convinced I was going to work in international development in India. I have my professional sights set on public policy work related to women and reproductive rights stuff but I'm still young and figuring that shit out. My college years were spent in a cooperative living house of 28 people in which I learned the magic of sharing and cooperating with people on a day to day basis. I think this contributes a lot to my constant seeking of new people and ideas in my life.

I love to travel and have been trying to take in more of the U.S in the last couple years as my Global Studies degree had somewhat blinded me to the treasures we have right here. My next exciting trip - though - is outside of the U.S. in the Dominican Republic to visit my friend doing Peace Corps there. I'm excited to dust off my backpacking pack again and bring my hiking boots for that adventure.

Personally, I'm super interested in personal growth and enjoy talking about our lives - both the light and dark sides of it with people. I love to cook things I don't know how to cook and even more so I love to make cocktails. If the time/opportunity presents itself, I’d love to do this for you!

PHILOSOPHY

I definitely don't have it figured out but I've found if I make a conscious effort to eliminate my expectations and choose happiness, things generally work out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have couchsurfed in Mumbai, Amsterdam, and Washington D.C. and loved every minute of it. I love people and love getting a chance to see their worlds.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been given many opportunities to do some amazing things! One of them being my last period of stay in India. Not only did I get to travel through some of the most beautiful parts of the country, I also got to meet some even more beautiful people and learn about their lives while sharing our ideas. The most amazing part was where I got to grasp an appreciation and respect for the opportunity/right to learn and take one's ambitions seriously from some young women who were stepping up and out for themselves and what they were passionate about. This understanding has propelled me into the action of pursuing my own ambitions, no matter how big or unimaginable they may be.
