About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Stay green!
PHILOSOPHY
Live and let live. Hug anyone who's up for it. (Free Hugs is about up there with CouchSurfing as far as I'm concerned.) Don't take things too seriously, because if it really matters, it'll settle in down deep where there's no serious or silly, just truth. Cultivate and practice compassion and agape. Be open. Stay green.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At the moment, I'm just floating around. As a student travel's sort of out of the question, and I can't host anyone in student housing... but I still like to keep a thumb on the pulse of CS because I think it's one of the coolest things on the planet. Can't wait to get more involved!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hosted a friend overnight once. The most thrilling bit is that I think I introduced him (along with most of my acquaintance) to CouchSurfing.
Interests
Theatre, writing, reading, long conversations on anything, short conversations on anything, any kind of artistic pursuit, road trips, random midnight excursions for no good reason whatsoever, cooking, seeing new things, doing new things, learning about new things, weird words, listening to stories (esp. true ones), being passionate about stuff, finding out what other people are passionate about, and generally being perky-with-soul.

Music, Movies, and Books
Mmmmm... Basically, anything witty, satirical, clever, wildly imaginative, mildly imaginative, unique, twisted but not morbid, darkly humorous, non-gory, non-gratuitous, non-preachy (though intelligent lessons are okay), truthful, heartfelt, raw, expertly crafted, hilarious, profound, and/or passionate. I love foreign films, highly visual movies (What Dreams May Come, Moulin Rouge), musicals, and anything clever or inspirational and related to my interests (Stranger Than Fiction, August Rush). Same criteria applies to books but they MUST be well-written and I prefer a pleasant font and past tense. Bonus points if they smell good. Music has to make me feel or be so challenging that my mind works overtime and comes out enlightened (yay for opera and John Coltrane).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I watched my youngest brother be born. It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. It's funny; there's nothing technically beautiful about birth. It's messy and painful. He came out looking like a slimy squid, and he was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen and I started crying. Strange how that works.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know about: Writing. The English language (I want to learn how to teach English as a second language at some point though I know very little about it now). Ukrainian eggs. Crocheting (at least a little). Kids (I'm the oldest of 6, and I'm generally good with children). Acting. Sewing. Making wire and bead jewelry. Playing piano (at least to an intermediate level). Singing (sort of).
I want to learn about: Anything you want to teach me!
