ABOUT ME
I'm a student of history at the University of Texas at Austin most of the time. Right now I'm on exchange at Boğaziçi Üniversitesi in Istanbul, Turkey. I love making decisions by flipping a coin, especially if that decision has to do with where to go next. That's how I ended up in Istanbul. This system has never disappointed me. I also dabble in music. I've played guitar for about 10 years and mandolin for 2 years. I sing. I cook. I will gladly talk with you about anything imaginable until the sun rises, even if I did so the night before. I organize my life with post-it notes. I like dark beer, and intend to learn how to brew it. I start projects, especially writing projects, but never finish them. I leave them as is because I can never think of a suitable ending. Like this one: no suitable ending.
PHILOSOPHY
I like to fly by the seat of my pants so to speak. I have plans for my life, but they don't start for a few years. Until then, I'm making it up as I go along and seeing where that takes me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I watched the sunset over the Black Sea in Amasra, Türkiye drinking a çay as a group of local kids played a pickup game of soccer. Incredibly peaceful.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm interested in learning things from the ground up. Scholars like to talk about sweeping changes in history, political movements, and eras. However, I'm more interested in the day-to-day. What these big ideas look like on the ground level.
