ABOUT ME

I'm currently a junior at Macalester College in Saint Paul, MN.  I'm majoring in International Studies with a minor in Political Science and a concentration in Middle Eastern Studies and Islamic Civilizations.As one would probably expect, I follow and enjoy arguing US Politics.  I don't have a great knowledge of other political systems, but it is something that I would really like to learn.  I'm also a self-admitted nerd when it comes to politics, and I like reading everything in the spectrum from Kapital to The Prince, even though I do not fully agree with either.I'm a big sports fan, and for my first two years in college I played American football.  I don't think there's anything better than playing a pick-up game of basketball or 7-on-7 football.  I'm awful at soccer, although I respect the game and find it entertaining.  Go Packers, Sooners, Bulls, and LFC!Being from Alaska, I love to fish, hike, and alpine ski.  I've gone on trips to Jackson Hole and Big Sky in the past couple years, and I learned all I know about fishing from my father, who is one of those people who will catch a fish when nobody else does.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live. Everyone believes the things they do for a reason, and to never hear their stories is to undermine our collective existence.

One trip to the east coast to visit friends/family summer of 2011.

Interests

Basically anything outdoors; hiking and fishing in the summer, alpine skiing in the winter. I love music, going to concerts, playing guitar. Love sports, esp American football, basketball, soccer, and ice hockey.

I'm an avid fly fisherman, although I don't know how to tie flies.  I know all the ins and outs of American football.  I play guitar, although my skills have diminished over the past year or two. I also think that I have enough survival skills to be able to live through most crazy wilderness situations (not Bear Grylls style, mind you.)
